Specializing in coaching entrepreneurial people like: Real Estate Leaders, Business Executives, Entertainment Creatives, Professional Coaches and Psychotherapists
Sir Edmund Hillary, the first person to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, said:
"It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves."
Along the way we may stumble and fall but getting up again takes considerable bravery.
How would it feel to conquer yourself and reach your metaphorical Mt. Everest?
At Hero's Journey Coaching:
We help people, like you, quiet the voices in their heads so they can show up more authentically in the now and be at peace as a result of their conscious choices. The benefit is, in addition to being joyfully fulfilled, achieving significantly greater success in their businesses!
Where do these voices come from?
There are a number of theories about this but we believe that these voices are held in what we call our conditioned tendency. Everyone knows someone who, when a specific set of circumstances arises, that person will always respond in a very predictable way. One might even go so far as to say "Oh, he/she always does that when ..."
Our conditioned tendency is the result of very careful training from our past. It is like we have gone through four different schools of training in order to be able to achieve our own conditioned tendency.
- The first place we get this training is from our gene pool. From here we get our gender, sexual preference, and ethnicity and many messages about them.
- The second place is from what we call our cultural domestication. From here we get training and messages from our parents, siblings, language, nationality and even the region in which we live.
- The third place is from our education. From here we get trained by our teachers, mentors, coaches, consultants with messages about schooling, (having gone to a good school or not so good school, being smart or not so smart), our profession and our resultant social status.
- The fourth place is from our religion and its resultant training. Here we acquire messages about the commandments of life, our moral values and in many cases the after-life and hell.
It is important to know and to be able to recognize our conditioned tendency because we get bombarded by it all of the time. When we can notice, and it is all about the noticing, rather than getting rid of or shutting our voices up, we are then living in conscious choice and at that time we can ask them to sit down and be quiet (or shut up). The amazing thing about this is that they will do just that - sit down and be quiet. Imagine what life would be like in that state?
One final point here at this time and that is an example. Suppose that you were taught as a 3 year old to never cross that street when the WALK sign says "DON"T WALK." As an obedient 3 year old, you always listened to that message and never crossed on the "DON"T WALK" sign. Well that served you very well because you are still here to read these words. However, now that you are 38 and want to cross the street at 3:30 in the morning and there are no vehicles as far as you can see, this serves you very poorly and it would be ridiculous to stand at the curb and wait for the WALK sign before crossing. It would be a disservice to you as a thinking human being to not act - cross the street - when you know that it is perfectly safe to do so.
So, the job of our coaching is to help you recognize your own voices so that you can tell them to sit down and be quiet so you can act consciously as the naturally creative, resourceful and whole human being that you are.
What would it be like to hear your voices clearly so you can tell them to shut up?
Eckhart Tolle, at the beginning of the audio book version of his Power of Now says.
"You are here to enable the divine purpose of
the universe to unfold.
That is how important you are."
What would it be like to permit your devine purpose to be seen fully?
When given the complete freedom to chose between what is one's current story and change, the vast majority of people will chose their current story because change is simply way too scary!
Are you willing and able to chose change?

Behind the Mission: The Myth of the Hero's Journey
In 1949, Joseph Campbell, one of the world’s leading authorities on
myths, wrote in his book, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, about "the
hero’s journey." Mr. Campbell proposed that all myths - across all
time and cultures – contain the same basic ingredients and follow the
same general formula and that there are never really any new stories – just
the same stories retold. These “stories” contain one over arching theme,
which is the blueprint for tales since humankind’s earliest days. This
is the “hero’s journey,” which is the underlying story of our work.
The “hero’s journey” has three main parts: Departure, Initiation and
Return.
